Explaining Cannabis to your Board

September 8 2020 18:00 - 19:00 UTC

How do you explain cannabis and its impact to your institution to your Board?

With the cannabis market expanding and deemed essential in many states, significant opportunities for banking exist. There is also the other side of the coin to consider: If you don’t have a risk appetite for banking cannabis, how do you establish your controls to ensure you are in compliance with your policy?

The Board is ultimately responsible for reviewing and approving your BSA Program, and that program must include – either as a subset of the whole or as a standalone program – cannabis banking. Further, if you are banking any segment of the industry, your Board must receive periodic training to ensure they remain knowledgeable of cannabis banking issues and the industry’s impact on your institution.

In this webinar, we will provide you the information you need to take back and share with your Board. You will have the content and the tools you need to effectively communicate cannabis banking issues to your Board so that they will have the necessary knowledge to meaningfully contribute to the challenges and opportunities that may exist for your institution.
