Cybersecurity for Financial Institutions

May 20 2020 18:00 - 19:30 UTC

Whether you are a business originator or a financial institution ODFI, cybercrimes affect you. Both companies and financial institutions have lost millions of dollars over the last few years to cybercrime, namely account takeover. This session will prepare you to defend against account takeovers. We will address account takeover schemes, the damage they cause, mitigation methods, identification tips, and how to respond to a crisis event.

Attendees will hear a detailed analysis of a real-life corporate account takeover — a fraudster that initiated a transaction within five minutes of acquiring account information. The speaker will review the crisis as it unfolded, with a minute-by-minute breakdown of the detection and response that deterred the attack so that nothing was lost.
